Recently and before the start of the tourist season, the bans on the entry of third country nationals to Greece are relaxed and now citizens from more and more countries are allowed to enter the country, under certain conditions.

According to the current Ministerial Decision, citizens from the following countries are allowed to enter Greece: Australia, New Zealand, South Korea, Thailand, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, United States of America, Serbia, Russian Federation, Israel, Rwanda and Singapore.

Specifically for the citizens of the Russian Federation, a maximum of 4,000 per week are allowed to enter, exclusively through air connections to the airports of Athens, Thessaloniki, Heraklion, Corfu, Rhodes, Kos, Mykonos, Santorini and Chania.

A necessary requirement is the negative diagnosis in a laboratory test for coronavirus COVID-19 within 72 hours before arrival, as well as the possession of a relevant certificate in English. Entry is also allowed upon completion of the vaccination, provided that the relevant certificate is presented in English. Especially for the citizens of the Russian Federation, the conditions for a negative diagnosis and completion of the vaccination are required to be met cumulatively.

In the general ban on the entry of third country nationals there are exceptions such as for example for permanent residents, those who hold a permanent residence permit, etc. For those who do not fall into any of these categories, the possibility of exceptionally issuing an entry visa by the competent Consulate is provided if it is proven that there is a reason for this.

New announcements are expected at the end of the week and even more relaxation in the restrictions.
